Lightweight boom tail for race use The Unifiber Carbon V2 Outside Wide Tail +50 (190-240) - Elite is designed for demanding riders using larger freerace and race sails. High-grade pre-preg carbon construction provides very high stiffness at low weight, resulting in direct sail feedback and stable profile support under load. This component belongs to the Elite range, where low weight and stiffness are the main priorities. Wider profile for modern race sails The inner boom tail width is 17 cm. The wider outline provides additional clearance for deep modern race sail profiles and helps reduce unwanted contact between the sail and boom. High stiffness also helps minimise sail profile distortion under heavy load and higher outhaul tension. Outside Tail construction This model uses an Outside Tail design, meaning the boom tail slides over the outside of the boom body. This solution helps reduce rear-end weight and swing weight. That is particularly useful with larger race rigs, where keeping the back of the boom light improves handling during manoeuvres and direction changes. The boom tail diameter is 38 mm. Pulley system The boom tail features a pulley system at the clew for smooth and precise outhaul adjustment. It can be configured with an adjustable outhaul system of your choice, allowing sail tension to be adjusted while sailing and the sail profile to be matched to changing conditions. Configure Me The Carbon V2 Outside Wide Tail +50 - Elite is part of the Unifiber Configure Me modular boom system. Compatible components can be replaced, renewed or upgraded individually without replacing the complete boom. Secure adjustment The adjustment range is +50 cm and corresponds to a 190-240 cm boom configuration. Double Pin Locks are mounted directly on the boom tail. The twin-pin system securely holds the selected length and helps minimise unwanted movement under load. Low weight The boom tail weighs 0.78 kg. Combined with its dimensions and high stiffness, this helps keep rear-end weight and swing weight low for better control of larger rigs.
