Barefoot System – natural board feel
The Barefoot System developed by French neoprene specialist ATAN uses an exceptionally soft and flexible natural latex sole. Its thin construction minimizes the barrier between the foot and the board, creating the barefoot-like feel ATAN boots are known for.
Despite the 6 mm neoprene thickness, Hot Wave remains highly flexible and can easily be squeezed with one hand.
6 mm neoprene with Plush Titanium
ATAN Hot Wave is made from 6 mm mineral-based neoprene with a glued and sewn construction. The interior features Plush Titanium, where Titanium adhesive creates a metallic film designed to reflect heat.
ATAN describes Hot Wave as its warmest boot, developed for cold-water sessions while maintaining the flexibility of the Barefoot System.
100% natural latex sole
The sole is made from 100% natural latex, combining very good grip with exceptional flexibility and direct board feel.
According to ATAN, the latex offers up to 700% elongation, helping it resist cuts and punctures while remaining highly flexible.
Secure fit with dual Velcro adjustment
Hot Wave features Velcro straps around the calf and over the instep. This dual adjustment helps stabilize the boot on the foot and maintain a secure fit during dynamic riding.
For multiple watersports
ATAN Hot Wave 6mm is suitable for windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing, wingfoiling, and other watersports where strong thermal protection and good board feel are required.
Handcrafted in France
ATAN boots have been handcrafted in a family-run workshop in Ardèche, France since 1983.
Care for natural latex
After use, rinse the boots with fresh water and allow them to dry without turning them inside out. Once dry, the latex can be treated with talcum powder. Store the boots in a cool place away from direct light, UV exposure, and hydrocarbons.
