A changing robe often needs a small clean rather than a full wash. Start with the care label inside your White Water robe and the manufacturer’s current instructions.
Clean only as much as necessary
White Water recommends removing dirt with a damp sponge and avoiding unnecessary machine washing. If a wash is needed, follow the garment label: the published guidance allows a cold delicate cycle, prefers cold hand washing, specifies non-bio detergent and excludes fabric conditioner.
Dry and store carefully
Air dry at room temperature, away from heaters. Do not tumble dry, iron or dry clean. Store the robe only after it has dried, with space around it rather than compressed in a damp bag.
When the outer fabric stops shedding water
White Water suggests a suitable DWR treatment when water no longer beads after repeated washing. Check compatibility and application instructions before use.
A practical routine for the beach
Empty pockets, remove loose sand and check the zip before putting the robe away. Keep it separate from wet neoprene during transport where possible, then unpack it at home. Do not assume that a pocket protects a phone during immersion: use a dedicated waterproof case where needed.
For an older robe or a different construction, the label on the garment takes priority. If it is missing or unclear, ask the manufacturer before washing.
